Food from Finland & JD.com workshop on June 1st
Food from Finland and JD.com will organize a workshop on how to access the Chinese market through JD.com’s sales channels and platforms. This workshop has been organized to present Finnish F&B companies all they need to know about selling to JD.com’s millions of customers. This is also an opportunity to learn more about JD.com’s experience in launching new products via local distributors/partners VS direct import.
For this workshop, JD.com is mainly targeting companies in the processed food sector, however, all companies that are interested in learning more about JD’s business model are welcome to attend.
Date and time: Thursday, June 1, at 08:30-11:45 (with the possibility to book individual meetings during the afternoon).
Venue: Rake Ballroom, Klaus K Hotel, Bulevardi 2-4, Helsinki
You can access the Rake Ballroom from 2 different entrances: There is a direct entrance and a lift to the Rake Ballroom on Erottaja 4 c, 00120 Helsinki, which provides easier access. From this lift you go to floor 5. If you wish to access Rake ballroom from the hotels side you enter from Bulevardi 2-4, and take the lift to 3B and then follow the signs to Rake Sali.

About the speakers:
Ken Yeung, General Manager, Imported Merchandise, JD.com
Ken joined JD in 2016 and is the head of imported merchandise category. Before joining JD, he was on an expat assignment from Walmart as Vice President, Strategy and Merchandising at Yihaodian in Shanghai, where he led corporate strategy, as well as imported food, mom & baby and cross-border eCommerce categories. Ken has 13 years of global experience, primarily in retail and eCommerce. He first joined Walmart at its Bentonville, Arkansas Home Office in 2006 and has held roles in strategy and finance at its US stores and Global eCommerce divisions for over ten years. Previously, Ken also worked in investment banking, consulting and supply chain. Ken holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, a master’s degree in communication management from the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree in history from Grinnell College.
Sadie Tao, Direct Import Manager, Imported Merchandise, JD.com
Sadie majored in Marketing Communication and E-commerce study. Ater graduating, she worked at Kingston Technology Company Beijing Office where she spent four years dealing with sales in traditional retail channels, as well as two years working with the e-commerce channel. Before she joined the Imported Merchandise department at JD.com, she spent more than two years at JD worldwide which is JD’s cross-border platform, where she was in charge of the food category.
Lucy Zhou, Deputy GM, Imported Merchandise, JD.com
Lucy has been working at JD for 6 years, since 2011. She started her job as a Trainee Eagle Team member. Trainee Eagle Team (TET) is a collect talent graduates program which offers to graduating degree/master candidates from top Chinese business schools. Lucy spent three years in Home Appliance BU, responsible for the merchandising for the electronic product category, and one year in International Business Department, helping local companies to sell their products to overseas. Before she joined the Imported Merchandise department, she spent 2 years in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods BU as a director, being in charge of the F&B category.
